  2. Choose the winning condition (Highest Total Points, Lowest Total Points, or Target Victory Score).
  3. Enter each player's round score using the input boxes or quick increment buttons (+1, +5, +10).
  4. Click 'Record Round Scores' to advance the round and view updated live rankings, point leads, averages per round, and the complete historical scorecard matrix.

Why it matters

Pen and paper score tracking leads to arithmetic errors, disputes over lead margins, and lost game history. This scorekeeper provides transparent, instantaneous round-by-round tallying, tracks point leads between 1st and 2nd place, and maintains a full audit log for any tabletop board or card game.

When to use it

Use during tabletop board game nights for games like Scrabble, Carcassonne, Catan, Wingspan, 7 Wonders, Hearts, Rummy, or Skyjo when a dedicated score pad is missing.

Good to know

All scores and game logs are stored in local browser memory during the active session. If an accidental score is entered, click 'Undo Last Round' to restore the previous standings without losing historical data.

Common questions

How does the scorekeeper handle games where low score wins like Golf or Hearts?

Select 'Lowest Total Points' under Win Condition or click the 'Lowest Score Wins' preset chip. The leaderboard will sort players in ascending order, placing the player with the lowest score in 1st place and calculating deficits relative to that leader.

Can I edit player names midway through a game?

Yes. You can edit any player's name directly in the name input field at any time. The live standings leaderboard and the entire round history scorecard will immediately update with the new name without resetting scores.

What happens if two players tie for first place?

The leaderboard detects tied scores and displays a 'Tied for 1st Place' status badge. Both tied players will appear with identical rank numbers and point counts at the top of the standings.

Can I undo a mistaken score entry?

Yes. Clicking 'Undo Last Round' pops the most recent round from the scorecard and recalculates all cumulative totals, averages, and leaderboard positions back to the previous round state.

How many players and rounds can this scorekeeper support?

The tool supports between 2 and 6 players and unlimited consecutive scoring rounds. The history table automatically enables horizontal scrolling if viewed on narrower mobile screens.
