Why it matters

Static QR codes permanently encode fixed URLs: if your destination link breaks or changes, printed marketing materials, menus, and business cards become worthless. Dynamic QR codes route through a persistent short identifier, giving you the flexibility to update destinations on the fly and monitor scan metrics without paying monthly SaaS subscriptions.

When to use it

Use when printing restaurant table menus, marketing flyers, conference badges, product packaging, or promotional posters where destination links might change over time.

Common questions

What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?

A static QR code encodes the destination URL directly into the matrix patterns and cannot be altered after printing. A dynamic QR code encodes a persistent routing link, allowing you to change the destination URL, update UTM campaign parameters, and track scan analytics without reprinting.

Where are scan analytics stored?

Scan records and campaign configurations are stored 100% privately in your browser's local storage (localStorage) or can be exported as clean CSV and JSON reports.

What error correction level should I choose?

QR codes support four error correction levels: L (7%), M (15%), Q (25%), and H (30%). For printed materials with potential wear, smudges, or logo overlays, High (H) or Quartile (Q) is recommended.

Can I download high-resolution formats for print?

Yes. You can export vector SVG files (which scale infinitely without pixelation for billboards and signs) or high-resolution PNG images.
