How to use it
- Enter all participant names into the list (one per line, minimum 3 participants).
- Configure any mutual exclusions using the format Person1:Person2 (for spouses, partners, or siblings who shouldn't draw each other).
- Set an agreed spending budget and exchange date so recipients know the holiday expectations.
- Click "Draw Names" to run the derangement algorithm and generate tamper-proof match links.
- Copy individual reveal links or send via WhatsApp. Each participant opens their own secret digital envelope.

Common questions
How do participants keep their matches secret?
Each participant is given a unique private link with their assignment encoded in the URL hash fragment. When they click the link, an interactive holiday envelope appears that only reveals their recipient when clicked.
Can the organizer see all the matches?
Yes, an optional "Host Confidential Master List" button is available at the bottom of the results for the event organizer to check the draw if someone loses their link or forgets their match.
How do exclusion rules work?
You can add pairs separated by a colon, such as "Alice:Bob, Charlie:Diana". The algorithm guarantees that Alice will never be assigned Bob (and Bob will never be assigned Alice).
Can someone draw themselves?
No. The tool uses a strict derangement algorithm where no participant can ever be assigned to buy a gift for themselves.
Is any personal data stored or sent to a server?
None whatsoever. All pairing logic, encryption, and link generation occur 100% inside your browser session.
