Why it matters
Competitive battling, gym planning, and team building require instant access to dual-type defensive matchup multipliers, base stat totals (BST), and evolution branches without intrusive ads or slow API round-trips. This tool queries client-side databases directly on your device.
When to use it
Use this Pokédex when building competitive teams (VGC / Smogon tiers), checking type matchup multipliers during gym battles, planning evolutions, or exploring creature lore and artwork.
Good to know
Covers all standard National Pokédex entries across Generation 1 through Generation 9. Dual-type defensive multipliers calculate compound weaknesses (e.g. 4x Ice weakness on Dragon/Flying species) and total immunities (0x damage).
Common questions
How are dual-type damage weakness multipliers calculated?
Dual-type effectiveness multiplies the single-type damage factors of each individual type together. For example, if Fire takes 2x from Water and Flying takes 1x from Water, Charizard (Fire/Flying) takes 2x * 1x = 2x. If both types take 2x (such as Rock vs Fire/Flying), the compound damage is 4x.
What does Base Stat Total (BST) indicate about a Pokémon?
Base Stat Total (BST) is the sum of a creature's 6 core attributes: HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. It provides an immediate baseline benchmark for overall combat potential across competitive tiers.
Are regional variants and mega evolutions included?
The search engine indexes primary National Pokédex species IDs and standard form data. You can query any species by name or numeric index to review base forms, abilities, and standard stats.
What is the difference between physical and special damage?
Physical moves deal damage calculated against the target's Defense stat using the attacker's Attack stat. Special moves deal damage calculated against the target's Special Defense stat using the attacker's Special Attack stat.
Does this tool work offline without an active internet connection?
Yes. Once the page is loaded into your browser, core type matchup matrices and stat lookup engines execute 100% locally in browser memory without sending queries to external servers.
