Common questions

How does the tool calculate daylight saving time (DST) shifts?

Because calculations run on your browser's native Intl.DateTimeFormat engine with official IANA time zone rules, transitions (such as British Summer Time or US Daylight Time) on your selected date are reflected automatically.

What do the different color tags mean?

Green indicates standard working hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM). Amber indicates shoulder hours (7:00–9:00 AM or 5:00–8:00 PM), suitable for flexible or occasional meetings. Muted grey indicates outside hours and sleeping time (8:00 PM to 7:00 AM).

Can I add custom cities not listed in the default presets?

Yes. Click "+ Add City / Zone" and pick any major world city from the dropdown selector or rename the participant label to match your colleague.

Will the downloaded .ICS file work with Google Calendar and Outlook?

Yes. The generated .ics file complies with the universal iCalendar standard (RFC 5545) and can be opened or imported directly into Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Apple Calendar, and Thunderbird.
